DiCentral Hosts Orchestra in Houston

On a cold December day in Portland, Brad Windecker and I embarked on a journey into the heart of Texas to spend a few days with one of our partners, DiCentral. While we were there, we had the chance to talk to their management team about their solutions, fulfill my lifelong dream of visiting NASA in Houston, attend a spectacular company party, and enjoy some southern hospitality. It's great to do business with a firm that provides a great product and knows how to throw a party.

Armed with a carry on full of great northwest beer, Brad and I arrived in Houston to the din of crying children and the taste of airline peanuts. Jimmy and Mario met us at the airport and whisked us away to a dinner of southern BBQ and Armadillo eggs. These guys also know how to welcome folks, upon returning to our hotel we had several nice gifts including a fridge full of Lonestar and Shiner.

The next day we had a chance to meet the rest of the DiCentral team and tour their offices. It was great to get to put some names together with faces, and to get to talk about work we were doing with clients, the EDI marketplace, and to talk about the solutions that DiCentral offers. Brad and I were as pleased with the breadth of their offering as we were with the friendliness of their staff. It was obvious to us that we had chosen to work with a company that was both professional and personable.

DiCentral provides integration tools for a large variety of ERP systems including SAP Business One. They have both hosted and stand-alone EDI systems that offer a flexible and powerful way to integrate to EDI networks. DiCentral also offers industry leading tools to ensure that users are able to access any needed information quickly and effectively. Finally, it was great to talk to them about their extended offerings including solutions for vendor managed inventory, third party logistics, and other distribution and logistics offerings. We can confidently say that DiCentral helps us be able to service clients in new ways by delivering value at key points within the supply chain.

Of course, their products are great, but they really won me over when Jimmy took us to NASA in Houston. As a kid, I often dreamed that someday I would be an astronaut, so, in some ways, they fulfilled a piece of a life-long fantasy. The weekend rounded out with dinner and drinks in downtown Houston. We had a great time hanging out with all of the folks at DiCentral.
